Today we’re going to cover every vintage lover’s favorite accessory: a fabulous red lipstick. Lipstick comes in all kinds of formats and price points, so I thought today we would cover three of my favorites (and one on my lust list). These also cover a wide variety of budgets, so there’s a great red lipstick here for every vintage minded lady.

Cream Lip Stain by Sephora:
Price: $14.00
When I’m running around in the heat doing errands or hanging out with friends, this is pretty much my favorite secret weapon. It’s cheap, dries to a flawlessly matte finish and always garners massive amounts of compliments. The Always Red color is perfect for pinups channeling all eras and looks good on a really wide variety of skin tones. I wish the doe’s foot applicator gave you a bit more precision, but that’s a minor complaint about a lipstick I will always have in my drawer.
A word to the wise: once it’s on, this stuff does not come off without some serious makeup remover. The only exception is greasy food, which will make it slide off pretty immediately. This makes it great when you want to look amazing for the long haul, but not so great for a leisurely dinner date. It will stay on through coffee or tea, which makes it a winner in my book.

Ambition by LUSH:
Price: $18.00
If you like your red lipstick with a big dose of ethical goodness, try this surprisingly long lasting red by LUSH. They don’t test on animals and pack their products full of natural ingredients, which make them great for people with sensitive skin. This color can come across slightly orange, but still creates a great ethical pinup look for a reasonable price tag.
This lipstick doesn’t last as long for me as the Sephora brand does, but it’s a really close second. It will smudge when you eat though, so you’ll have to be a bit more careful with it than with the lip stain.

Classic Color Lipstick by Besame Cosmetics:
Price: $22.00
Everyone has heard of this one since it was featured on Agent Carter. She’s wearing the Red Velvet color on the show, if you want to replicate her look. However, their other red shades are equally amazing and shouldn’t be overlooked. While I love their more popular options, Tango Red has quickly become my summer alternative. It’s lighter, easier to wear in casual settings and goes with pretty much everything. These don’t have a lot of staying power for me, but the colors are so great I wear them anyway.

Rouge G de Guerlain Jewel Lipstick Compact:
Price: $53.00
While these lipsticks get rave reviews, it’s really the compact and the tube design that are the showpieces here. I love lipsticks that come in unique packaging, so this ticks all of my “must have” boxes. I’ve got it on my future splurge list!
What’s your favorite red lipstick? Did I miss any ‘must have’ brands?
