When I went down to the Trashy Diva boutique on Saturday, I was on a mission to pick up one of the new pieces from the Forget Me Not Floral collection. On my way to the dressing room, I ran across a mannequin with this dress on it and fell in love hard. While I’ve been on a “fancy” dress ban, this sequined dress stole my heart and I had to have it. I’ll review the floral one I bought next week, but I wanted to get to this one first since it’s limited edition and likely to be gone from stores incredibly soon.

This is actually a variation on the Peacock Lillian, which was released several years ago and has become a collector’s item for lots of Trashy Diva fanatics. This dress is made out of thicker rayon, with a gorgeously full skirt and the same intricate beading that was featured on the Lillian. Forgive the wrinkly skirt here – I took these on a windy day and my skirt was blowing around constantly!

The beading on this is just lovely and really makes the simple cut of the dress work. I tried several different hair flowers and head bands with it, but eventually decided to let the beading be the star.

As you can see, there is a lot of skirt here! While I normally don’t go for dresses with really full skirts, I think it works well here to balance out all the beading on top.
As for sizing, I took a 16 in this. I tried a 14, 16 and 18 in store for comparison. The waist on the 14 was perfect but the chest was too small, the chest was perfect on the 16 and the waist was a tiny bit big and everything was too big on the 18. If you have a large bust/waist differential, I’d go up a size in this.

This also has pockets, which I love! It’s so hard to find fancier dresses with pockets and these are deep enough to hold your id, lipstick and cards on a night out.
If you do want to get your hands on this, it’s listed on the website here. I suspect it will sell out insanely quickly, as I saw every woman in the store pick one up this weekend. My sense was that it was a fairly limited edition release, so if you love it I would grab it as soon as your funds allow.
